United American Security Boosts Hurricane-Preparedness Capabilities with Acquisition of New Orleans Security Services Provider

United American Security Boosts Hurricane-Preparedness Capabilities with Acquisition of New Orleans Security Services Provider The newest group to join the United American Security family is New Orleans Private Patrol (NOPP), an 87-year-old security services company with clients that includes high-end condominium communities, commercial businesses within the Port of New Orleans, a hospital, a military contractor, and retail outlets. According to John Nail, United American Security Regional Vice President, UAS was attracted to NOPP’s enduring commitment to providing its clients with quality services, quality staff, and 24/7 support—qualities that mirror UAS’s approach in the security guard industry. “It was a perfect fit,” says Nail. United American Security Offers Guaranteed Hurricane Readiness After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the owners of NOPP put significant thought and investment into hurricane preparedness, ultimately purchasing an old fire station and converting it into a headquarters office. The result: a self-contained facility where staff can operate during emergencies and where processes, equipment, and supplies are readily on hand should a storm barrel through the region. “We now have such thorough hurricane preparedness that we can respond to any need that our clients have,” says Nail. He states that United American Security could “most definitely” provide uninterrupted services should another Katrina occur. In fact, just recently, when Tropical Storm Gordon struck South Florida and thrashed the Gulf coast, United American Security was fully prepared. “Three days before the storm was expected to make landfall, we put the hurricane preparedness program in place and we were ready to provide services to our customers before, during, and after the storm,” recalls Nail. Part of UAS’s preparations included ensuring there...
The Importance of Proactively Hiring Security Services in Texas

The Importance of Proactively Hiring Security Services in Texas

The Importance of Proactively Hiring Security Services in Texas “Texas is a unique state,” says Jeff Moore, Regional Manager for the Texas Southwest Region. “And the reasons it is so unique are the same reasons Texas business owners should proactively invest in business security guard services.” Moore emphasizes that Texas is an industrial state with two ports that operate massive shipping and receiving operations. “Tons of industry and commercial business comes through Houston,” Moore says. “Texas is also a border state with many unique warehousing and logistics companies have security needs related to their involvement with cross-border trade.” “The Houston area is also very unique to commerce.  Two of its cities—Sugarland and Pearland—are among the fastest growing cities in the country. With growth comes crime.  And with crime comes the need for excellent security guard companies.” “Texas is not a poor state,” he continues. “It’s a thriving and industrial one. But it presents challenges to every business owner and requires them to take extra steps to keep themselves safe.” In Moore’s view, the solution to Texas’s unique situation is obvious: Texas businesses need security services and the best security guards before their security and their business are threatened. Proactive Versus Reactive Approach to Security Many business owners wait for a robbery or other situation to occur before hiring a security services firm like United American Security (recognized as one of the best security companies in Texas). But that’s the wrong tactic, argues Moore. Engaging with United American Security from the start will save your company considerable costs, both in human and financial capital, related to preventative measures. Seven Reasons...

United American Security Purchases “Broad Spectrum Security Company” in New York City

United American Security Purchases “Broad Spectrum Security Company” in New York City With its recent purchase of Clark Investigations & Security, United American Security now has a presence in New York City, perhaps the most diverse metropolis in the world. And fittingly, UAS’s newest acquisition is perhaps its most diverse company yet. With a clientele comprised of museums, hotels, commercial properties, residential facilities, and construction sites, Clark Investigations & Security was known as “a broad spectrum security company,” according to its previous owner, Jay Finn. This broad spectrum certainly attracted UAS’s attention, and in June it acquired the company, bringing in Finn as Branch Manager. A Mutual Attraction United American Security wasn’t the only party intrigued by the possible merger. Says Finn, a law school graduate and 27-year veteran of the New York Police Department, “I was looking for a partner to grow the company. I wanted somebody who had both the depth and the knowledge to bring the merge together.” “When I sat down with the different levels of management at UAS prior to the merger, I saw a lot of things that I saw in myself,” Finn continues. “UAS is a group of dedicated professionals. Like me, they feel every problem has a solution. They want to meet and exceed client expectations.” It was a win for all.  United American Security has many years of experience working with sellers of security guard businesses. A Sprawling Metropolis Supervising security guards as they provide top-notch security services in the nation’s most populous city certainly comes with its challenges, and Finn, a one-time Commanding Officer of the Manhattan District Attorney...
